Chase Koska

Commercial Manager and Managing Partner

Chase Koska grew up in Corpus Christi, TX. He graduated from Baylor University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in both Real Estate as well as Financial Services and Planning. After graduation, Chase worked for a competitor in Houston as a Residential Property Tax Consultant, learning the ins and outs of the industry and personally representing around 1700 properties in Harris County. In 2011, Chase moved to Denver, CO and attended Denver University to obtain a Master of Science degree in Real Estate and Construction Management. Upon graduation in March 2012, Chase moved back to Texas to commence his role as Managing Partner at Resolute. With Chase's help, Resolute has grown to be one of the top property tax consulting firms in Texas. Chase lives in Dallas with his wife & children and enjoys hunting, fishing, and following Baylor Bears sports in his free time.

John Maguire

President and Managing Partner

John is a co-founder of Resolute Property Tax Solutions and Resolute Tax Credit Services and currently leads technology development efforts for both companies. Since 2010, John has developed several leading technology solutions to help taxpayers reduce their tax burden. He's a passionate advocate for small businesses and is a sought-after resource for other small business owners.

John is a graduate of Baylor University and once threw RGIII an alley-oop in a pickup basketball game - marking the pinnacle of his lifetime athletic achievements. RGIII will never remember. John will never forget.

Alex Cothran

Residential Manager

Alex spent his childhood in the Charleston area of South Carolina. He graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor's in History, where he routinely made fun of people that regularly used Microsoft Excel. A year later he moved here to the Promised Land. Alex joined Resolute in 2016 as a Residential Agent in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and one of the first full-time employees at the company. He is responsible for developing and implementing many of Resolute's quality control, training, and optimization processes, and in a hilarious twist of fate has used Microsoft Excel to do the majority of it. Alex now brings his years of experience in Property Tax Protest negotiation to bear in leading Resolute's Residential Division. Alex lives in the Dallas area with his wife and their three children. Outside of work Alex is active in his church, and enjoys a cigar on the porch in the evening and the occasional hunting trip once protest season ends.

Karl De Guzman

Team Lead Agent Assistant

Karl completed a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He has served as the Assistant Team Lead for the past two years, but prior to that, he began his career at Resolute as a Customer Service Representative. Before joining Resolute, he held positions at BPOs, E-commerce, and software companies as a Customer Service Supervisor and Compliance Manager.

His primary responsibility is to lead a team of assistants for our agents, but over the past two years, he has also handled data, sorted evidence, and occasionally communicated with Central Appraisal District personnel. He ensures that our agents are equipped with everything they need during the protest season.

Outside of work, Karl has been honing his skills in data management. He enjoys old school rock and roll music, casually plays basketball from time to time, and trains in boxing to stay in shape.

David Myre

Property Tax Agent, North Texas

David is a Dallas native and has lived in the Lakewood neighborhood of Old East Dallas for over a decade. He obtained his real estate license in 2006 and currently puts his real estate experience and knowledge to work as a Property Tax Consultant. Although David has specialized as a Property Tax Consultant in Dallas, Tarrant, and Collin counties since 2011, he also has experience working with the Appraisal Review Board in Travis and Harris County as well. During his free time, David enjoys researching new Internet trends and is accomplished in Internet marketing. He has bought, sold, and developed hundreds of domain names over the years. With his skills, his 10+ years of experience in the industry, and the proprietary technology available at Resolute, David is an invaluable member of our team.

Colby Riggs

Property Tax Agent, North Texas

Colby was born and raised in Arlington, TX, and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Communication. He obtained his Texas real estate license immediately upon graduation and has been actively selling real estate since. In addition to working as a realtor, he also has experience working in mortgage lending as well as property management. He began his career in the property tax consulting industry a few years before he joined Resolute in 2020. Colby specializes in and manages High-Value properties in Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties. He has extensive experience working in all other major counties throughout the state. Additionally, he also manages a portfolio of smaller counties that Resolute represents in North Texas. Outside of real estate, he enjoys traveling and spending time with family, and friends.

Ryan Welborn

Southern Regional Director and Commercial Agent

Ryan Welborn grew up on the Llano Estacado in West Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance. His construction experience goes back to the age of 16 and he has owned a commercial construction company at one point. He also started selling real estate at the age of 25 and still maintains his license. He brings inside experience from a few years of working for two Appraisal districts prior to deciding to become a property tax agent in 2013. Since then, he has successfully represented thousands of commercial and residential clients in almost all the 254 counties in Texas. He also enjoys taking on unique and difficult exemption cases and looks for any reason to rewrite Texas Property Tax Code. He spent 7 years in Austin prior to relocating to Houston. He's a fan of architecture, cinema, and sports. During his free time, he enjoys traveling.

Willie Frost

Property Tax Agent, Southern Texas

Willie was born and raised in Louisiana. He attended Louisiana Tech and Grambling State University for his Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Kinesiology. After finishing college, Willie moved to Houston, Texas to finish his degree in Business Management, and worked as an appraiser for 4 years as a Residential and Commercial appraiser. Willie has also been a realtor for over 4 years and is dedicated to his craft, helping property owners find the property that they are looking for and giving them a wonderful experience. Willie has also been doing property taxes for over 4 years, using his experience from being an appraiser, his knowledge from being a realtor, and also a property tax consultant to help the clients the best way he can.

When Willie is not working, he is spending time riding bikes and enjoying time with his kids.

Josh Arkless

Property Tax Agent, Southern and Central Texas

Josh was born and raised in Iowa. Out of high school, Josh secured a 5-year electrical apprenticeship which led him to be a fully licensed electrician. He stayed in the electrical field for the next 14 years. In 2011 Josh and his family moved to Houston.

Once in Texas Josh wanted a fresh start with a new career which led him to get his real estate license. One thing Josh learned as a real estate agent was he enjoyed the research and analysis part of the real estate field. Combining his love for research and analysis with real estate brought Josh to the property tax industry.

Nicole Cowan

Central Texas Residential Director and Agent

Nicole is a native Texan who attended Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, TX, where she played volleyball and graduated with honors. Shortly after earning her BA, Nicole obtained her real estate license in 2015 and quickly started working with investors to flip properties throughout the state of Texas; specifically in the Austin, Galveston, San Angelo, and San Antonio markets. In 2017 she switched teams and got her Property Tax Consulting license to shift her focus on helping out her fellow Texans.

Austin has been Nicole’s home for more than 15 years; even though her closet screams DALLAS COWBOYS! When she is not saving her client's money on their tax bill, you can find her paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake, taking people's money in darts, or playing a pickup game of sand volleyball. As soon as the season is over, party at the Moontower!

Justin Dean

Property Tax Agent, Central Texas

Justin Dean grew up in Southeast Texas. After graduating from Nederland High School in 1997, he attended the University of Houston Downtown, earning a degree in finance. While attending college and working, from 1997 to 2008, Justin demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by owning and managing a portfolio of 20 properties. Engaging in various aspects of real estate, he successfully navigated the intricacies of property flipping, property management, and mortgage brokering. In 2013, Justin transitioned into the realm of property appraisal, bringing his wealth of real estate knowledge to the McLennan County Appraisal District. Over the course of a decade, he served as an appraiser, specializing in Residential, Commercial, and Business Personal Property. In 2023, Justin embarked on a new chapter in his professional journey, joining Resolute as a property tax consultant.

Outside of work Justin has three children that keep him pretty busy with sports and Church. He loves his family, learning new skills, reading self improvement books, as well as traveling.

Brian Stiles

Senior Software Architect

Brian Stiles grew up north of the Dallas, TX metroplex. He graduated from UT-Dallas in 2011, majoring in Software Engineering and minoring in Business Administration. After graduation, he worked as a software engineer for a company that specializes in solutions for small businesses. In 2018, he began working with the software team at Resolute. He now leads the software team at Resolute and enjoys building solutions that help our clients and our employees. Brian lives in Austin, TX and spends his time with family, friends, traveling, and staying active.

Spencer Wallace

Software Engineer

Spencer went to school at the University of Lethbridge where he received a dual degree for Business Management and Computer Science. After his graduation in 2012, he has worked as a business analyst for Alberta Infrastructure in the business improvement department. He then moved back to his hometown where he was a software engineer for the largest online wedding supply retailer. Since 2019, he has been with the software team at Resolute helping to improve the system that our team uses to maximize our clients' savings.

When he isn't programming he is usually making food for his family, longboarding with his dog, or mountain biking with friends.

Ryan Kinler

Property Tax Agent, North and Central Texas

Ryan Kinler grew up in the DFW area and graduated from The University of North Texas with a degree in Real Estate and Finance in 2005. After graduation, he spent 17 years with the Dallas Central Appraisal district working in the residential, commercial and exemptions department. The last 7 years at DCAD he specialized in handling all of the 3000+ 1D1 Open Space Valuation (ie. Ag exemption) properties in Dallas County. He joined Resolute in 2022 as a commercial property tax consultant and has represented clients in Dallas, Travis and Williamson counties.

He resides in Grandview, Texas, 45 minutes south of Fort Worth where he lives with his wife and 5 children. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, snow skiing and being active with his Church.

Brittany Harmon

Commercial Property Tax Agent, North Texas

Brittany Harmon grew up in McKinney, TX. After three and a half years, she graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing with a minor in International Business. After graduation, she spent 13 years working as an appraiser at Collin Appraisal District in both residential and then commercial. She joined Resolute in 2022 as a commercial property tax consultant. Brittany has successfully represented thousands of clients all over the state of Texas with her experience as an appraiser and tax consultant.

She resides in Melissa, TX with her husband and two daughters. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, cooking and baking.

Samantha Chavez

Senior VP of Operations

Samantha brings over a decade of experience in business operations to our team. A graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Samantha combines a strong foundation in human behavior with a passion for leadership and process improvement. Known for her strategic mindset and exceptional organizational skills, Samantha has successfully led teams to achieve operational excellence.

Outside of work, she finds joy in traveling with her family and maintaining an active lifestyle.

Stacy Fernandez

Houston Office Assistant

Stacy is a native Houstonian with two years of experience working alongside Resolute Property Tax Solutions, where she serves as the face of our Houston office. Specializing in customer service with a remarkable 10 years of experience, Stacy is a powerful force in the workplace, known for her positive attitude and dedication.

Outside of work, Stacy enjoys engaging in thrift shopping and jogging during her free time.

Elizabeth Dugenia

PH-Operations Manager

Beth is a seasoned professional with over two decades of dedicated experience in the field of customer service. Her journey in this dynamic industry has taken her across borders, providing her with invaluable exposure to diverse cultures and perspectives.

Beth's commitment to excellence and natural leadership qualities led her to take on roles of increasing responsibility. As a team leader in one of the largest financial institutions in the United States, she played a pivotal role in guiding and motivating her team to achieve their goals while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.

Driven by a passion for continuous improvement and a desire to explore new horizons, Beth joined Resolute, she brings her wealth of experience and expertise to the table, contributing to the company's mission of delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships with clients.

In her free time, Beth loves to listen to Math Rock and Standard Jazz while crocheting.

Pol Marc Calo

Bookkeeper and Analyst

Pol is an experienced accountant from the Philippines. Primarily responsible for record-keeping at both Resolute Property Tax Solutions and Resolute Tax Credit Services, he reconciles transactions across different platforms into the company's records. Pol also prepares financial reports to aid management in planning and decision-making. Within Resolute Tax Credit Services, he leads a team responsible for standardizing data formats used in calculating clients' tax credits.

Outside of Resolute, Pol enjoys traveling. Additionally, he loves cooking for his family, even though his siblings don't particularly enjoy what's always on the menu—especially vegetables.

Austin Thomas

Commercial Account Manager

Austin lives in Frisco, Texas with his wife and 3 adorable little girls. He is a dynamic individual who blends professional expertise with a passion for helping clients navigate property tax savings and tax incentives. He is always ready to go the extra mile for his clients and his referral network proves it.

Outside of the office, Austin is a huge CrossFit enthusiast. The discipline and intensity of CrossFit align perfectly with his proactive approach to life's challenges. Whether he's strategizing for a client or pushing through a tough workout, Austin brings the same level of determination and focus to everything he does.

Jill Maglalang

Senior Customer Support

Jill is a seasoned Senior Customer Service Representative from the Philippines. Before joining Resolute, she worked as a Customer Associate for the largest telecom firms in the US and Australia. With a wealth of 12 years of experience in delivering exceptional customer service experiences, she excels at resolving inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Bringing her skill set to the team, she also serves as an Account Manager at Resolute Tax Credits Solutions. Her expertise extends beyond issue resolution to building lasting relationships and ensuring client success for the Employee Retention Credit program.

Outside of work, Jill enjoys cooking, experimenting with recipes, and discovering new cuisines. Her heart warms, above all, when she bonds with her daughter.
